A video installation created by Agnieszka Matejko, Robert Lysay and Jannie Edwards
We can’t see wind; we see only how it moves through the city—ushering in storms; dervishing leaves and garbage; stealing umbrellas and hats. Just as invisible as wind, but just as powerful, are the systemic conditions that shape the way people live and move through urban spaces. Street people, the homeless, are deeply affected by the forces of poverty and social policy. For them, the streets are home.
This installation was inspired by my friendship with Lenoose Martial, a man who was homeless for over thirty years.
